Honky tonk angels: poster design
For Summer 2015, the Hipp brought back one of the best-selling musicals in the theatre's 43-year history: Honky Tonk Angels. Featuring music of country legends like Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn, the show follows three women with a shared dream of country music stardom. The story is inspiring, simple, and sweet, and I thought the poster should be just that. Silhouettes were a classic way to present the women in terms of their passion for music, and I created a sense of freedom with wide spaces and colors reminiscent of the sky. Woody browns and bright red also pulled in elements of Honky Tonk culture, something crucial to the show's setting.

Below are some samples of designs I created for our email and social media campaigns throughout the run of the show. I was able to maintain the color scheme from the poster for some images, and for others I experimented with purples and pinks inspired by the lighting design created by our production team.
