the two musketeers: poster design
A witty play-within-a-play, The Two Musketeers follows a small acting company as they present Alexandre Dumas' beloved classic to the best of their ability after losing half of their cast due to budget constraints. For the poster, I wanted to express the play's silly, slapstick sense of humor without losing sight of the action and adventure of the story itself. I went with a quirky, illustrative interpretation of traditional musketeer imagery and a robust yet playful color palette to achieve this balance.

Below are some of the designs I created for our email and social media campaigns during the run of the show. The six actors in the play portrayed over 20 characters over the course of two hours, and outlining some of them in the form of a countdown provided the opportunity to do some fun copywriting to tie in with the visuals. For colors, I went with what looked best with the set and costumes: the red, white, and blue of the French flag.
